Jolene and I go back a long way. It was weird how we gotta know each other. She wanted a photographer to shoot bridal portraits in Bali. Despite being quite familiar with Bali myself, I recommended her to Gabriel Mendes, who does great work at Bali (and I didn’t even know Gab back then!). And through her, I got to know Gabriel. Great guy, excellent photographer.

I still remember the first time I met up with Jolene. As she was scrutinizing my portfolio with her lips pursed and eyebrows creased, I thought it wasn’t meant to be. It was further ‘confirmed’ when the first words she said (after going through the portfolio several times) were “I don’t quite like your style”… I couldn’t quite remember what she said after that, but I’ll definitely always remember what she said in the end. “Ok, let’s sign the contract”.

Fast forward a year later. Jolene had been very supportive of my photography progress, keeping in touch and sending words of encouragement every time she sees my photography taking each step forward. Now that her wedding is finally here, I could at last say thanks in the best way I know.
